Michael Bolton's Karaoke Night?

I was so looking forward to my first so-called concert of an artist that I actually listened to when they were hot on the pop charts unlike say Air Supply. Hah! But sad to say, it wasn't all that! Sigh!

Okay. I was there with my sis and Car-Reen. All of us agreed to meet at KLCC. As it was race day for MotoGP and the weather was raining, I decided to go early and spent the day watching a movie, having nice meals and coffees and what-not

I even had an incident at Raku-zen where I chewed on a rubber band thinking it was some sort of salad stuff until I really couldn't swallow it and when I took it out, it was a rubber band! I raised a bit of a ruckus and they gave me a rebate

Anyway, while waiting for the concert, I was already feeling not so good. AC was kinda off and I actually sweat. Since the past 4 weeks, I was lacking sleep, today I was feeling mighty sleepy. However, after so much waiting, Michael finally took to the stage

To his credit, he could make with the small talk and was a most agreeable person. He encouraged everyone to take photos, video recordings, whatever and to sing along as we please and just have a good time. This is in contradiction to the wordings on his tickets. He made a few jokes here and there. But what was a disappointment is the lack in the older hit songs of his. In fact, he seemed intent on singing what he himself loved and also to promote his later works which is when his fame was already sliding. Sad, isn't it?

We opened the night with something that sounded pre-recorded from Hercules cartoon. Then he launched into Stand By Me which showed that his voice was still as powerful as ever and as fully charged on as ever. Then as the night progresses, he sang more songs from those unpopular albums. Sigh! And he even had to control himself from over-singing. You can hear that in patches where he overdid it and immediately checked himself

All in, I am glad I went but if he ever came back to perform, I would like to know the song list before I consider attending. Sigh!
