The Paaaaaiiiin!!!

As you know, the past few days have seen all the old illnesses making a comback - sore throat, fever, pain the neck and upper shoulder and twitching in the big toes - and I know it's because of the stress and what-not

Last night, I reached for my allopurinol having a sinking feeling that I might be headed for another attack and as there wasn't any and I was too lazy to go back to office, I decided to go to bed early. I even managed to stop myself from over-eating and snacking and guess what?

This morning, I woke up to pain ... in a new zone ... around the right knee cap! I  can feel a little lump of swelling! Damn damn damn damn! It is painful, it is throbbing. I stretched my leg straight, pain. I moved, pain. Damn damn damn damn!

So far, I tested it and it seemed to be gout. I was trying to think if I knocked it or anything but nothing came to mind. So I popped in 300mg allopurinol and keeping fingers crossed and hoping lots of water, minimal movement and this will help ease as tomorrow is travelling day again!

I am going to take today easy and doing the minimal only

The Meeting and the Bullshit

Morning was a rush ... both of activities and emotions. I woke up, rushed around to shower and change and then literally ran to the lobby ... thank goodness for once there was a buggy. Then to my surprise, Ee-Varn was not there yet. So I managed to sneak up to m office and dump my stuff before I see him approaching

We had a nice breakfast at Le Teng ... stewed pork rib wan than mee with bak kut teh soup and some wickedly strong iced coffee ... it's his farewell as he has to depart for Samui tomorrow. He is a good sort. Gigantic in size but appears to be generally easy going and got along well with the staff which is good

Once that was over, I had to rush to Bila-Bila to catch up with Pak Hardee and Master W. I had my suspicions on why Master W needed to join us and during the catch up, my suspicions were realized. Master W had on a nasty scowl and hardly spoke while Hardee explained our project and where we were going and time required. Then he didn't go into details of payments which was what we were supposed to be discussing. After that, he closed with the remark to Master W that the reason I am leaving is not because Indonesia is staff pinching me. Huh! I was so right on the money with that!

If Master W is so concerned, why doesn't he take care of my welfare? Reason is because he is selfish and playing politics. He only wants to surround himself with people who are no good and will kiss up to him, eh?

Anyway, after that is a flurry of meetings as per normal. We have the looooooooong IVC meeting followed by Master W and the Redster's departure as apparently they have to be at the Ministry to present the Safari's proposal for approval. This is great because it means Redster is doing it again! First was the land and now this. So much for all the naysayers!

Then we had the hotel meetings which was a bore as the GM was so boring in the way he speaks and his team are still making mistakes and lying all through. There is a section by my boss, the Daredevil in his first ever presentation. I was surprised. He took everyone's copy and paste as his. The best part is that his China deal is delayed for yet again and now the guy may cut down the size of his requirements. Then he presented other potential deals with the same ... where people are asking for ridiculous amounts of land ... just to impress us! He definitely never learns his lessons eh? Even the Hardeee man commented on this

Porsche - come on! It sounds as if he is in JV with them to ask us to find people who want to use the brand. And the best part is the architect who is involved has not worked with Porsche as well. So it's a case of everyone name dropping someone else and hoping to make big bucks by deal making, so not my type of game. If he can make it, good for him

Lastly, my turn. The best part was that after the meeting, I headed out to Olio for a bite and that was when Hardee msg and asked if convenient to talk. Then he explained what happened this morning and confirmed my suspicion that Master W and the Daredevil assumed that I am resigning because of Indonesia. Well yes because they are taking better care of my welfare you bozo brains! If you all treat me like a normal human being instead of your selfish attitudes where you expect me to sacrifice health, offdays, family and friends and even future relationships for you, then go FFF yourself!

Penang Day 4 ... Time to Bid Farewell ...

Yes I woke up this morning with that in mind. After about slightly more than 48 hours, I knew it was time to say goodbye to Penang and the strange thing is that while I enjoyed my time here, I don't feel like I am going to miss anything specific

In fact, I had a generally lazy day in my room the whole morning watching old horror flicks ... best time to watch ... so I don't get scared ... hahaha ... I kid you not! I get the willies watching these at night especially if alone ... and since I generally live alone ... o well ...

Foodwise, it was quite straightforward. I skipped breakfast and had a lunch of Jap at the mall. It was a good excuse to stop sweating as my room is like an oven. I tested it by walking down stairs and up again. The difference in temperature was most evident in 3 spots:

(a) First flight of about 10 steps and you can feel at the bend, the heat going up
(b) If I pulled back the curtains in my room, the heat surged in
(c) If I plonked in front of my laptop, I can feel the heat generating from the damn machine

So by the time 6:00pm rolled around, I was glad to get out of the house. We thought to go to the restaurant downtown near the jetty. However, to my utter disappointment, all the dishes I had admired actually tasted quite awful. The pork trotters was overcooked, dried and tasteless sauce. The fish curry was made using powdered curry mix without properly cooking until the oil comes out to give it that nice smell or fragrance and finally, the stuffed eu chia koay was not properly recooked and tasted cold and a bit off already

So sad, right, to put on weight for horrible food

Now I am at the airport ... typing away ... playing games ... and updating my blog!

At the new Starbucks - thank goodness!

Penang day again ...

I cannot believe that for a single guy  like me who is now 40 and soooooooooo alone when I sit down and type these "blog" ... I actually seemed to have a fair bit of new things (non-routine) to share!

Today is a good example. During yesterday's dinner, kung-fu master said the Penang trip is a go ... this means we have to be there by Saturday i.e. tomorrow ... so this morning, unfortunately because of last night's late night, I didn't have time to go in to office  and everything was rushed!

You see, at 8:15am, I drove to Sg Pelek for my morning brekko with CaseMan then it was to the petrol station to fuel up since I was down to my last bar and I have some driving to do. I arrived back at the hotel just in time when StepG gave me a buzz as he and the Mrs have arrived. We had a nice walk to the pool ... chatted ... drank coffee and discussed business until about ... 1030am maybe?

Then I drove them to Sri Bayu and Tg Rhu to have a look at both pieces of land and they liked it! I then persuaded them to talk to their partners in the investment fields and see what materializes! Sure hope something will

After that, by the time we got back it was noon. And I had to buy a ticket out for today. But there is so much to do that I actually had no time to go back to my room to pack. So by the time 5:00pm rolls around, I literally only had my laptop with me as I rushed into the car and off to the airport!

Yup I flew with no change of clothes or anything. Anything to report about KLIA? Nah. As usual, when the time comes for me to go to my gate, I noticed that it was shut and I had to go to another gate to enquire and they said there is a change in the gates. O gee, how nice! Why wasn't there an ANNOUNCEMENT you meatheads!

Thank goodness we had only a 30-minute delay and I arrived in Penang just perfectly timed to overstuff myself with Lobak and Char Hor Fun (first time in years!) ... at Bee Hooi ... so as you can see from the above, it was a right busy time, right? Hehehe!

CaseMan is still so hot as far as I am concerned. Sigh!
